Mahteenko is determined that he'll be the new Champion
Welterweight division's throne is empty since February when WFC stripped the belt from the title holder. The throne is up for grabs and it came down to Simone Tessari and Jevgeniy Mahteenko to decide in the ring who will be the next Welterweight Champion when they face-off at WFC 18: Knockout.
''I'll be the next Champion!'' stated Mahteenko loud and proud when being asked about the subject. He made it clear that he's coming to Krizanke with one goal only and that is to succeed in his task of becoming a WFC Champion.
It looks like it will be a fierce battle since his opponent has the same goal. Tessari spoke with wfc.si last month and pointed out that he has only one target in his mind and that is to claim the throne of the division.
Mahteenko is an experienced fighter with 14 professional fights in his career and is currently on a 2 fights winning streak with his latest victory against MMA legend Pele Landy when the two fought in the lustrous Abu Dhabi. Popular ''Zena'' has wins against WFC's Vaso Bakocevic and Bojan Kosednar a duo of tough fighters that are highly respected and successful in the WFC.
