Tessari: "I want to claim the Welterweight Title"

It has been a while since his debut fight at WFC Challengers 3, but now Simone "Tex" Tessari is entering the big leagues. At WFC 18 he'll go up against a year older Jevgeniy Mahteenko from Czech Republic.

Both fighters fought at last years Abu Dhabi Warriors 1 in the rich United Arab Emirates and ended their fights after 3 rounds. But it was kind of bitter apperance for 25-year-old Italian Tessari as he lost for the first time in his professional career. Benjamin Brinsa from Germany won after unanimous decision and that was the end of a perfect career score for Tessari.

Now it's time for "Tex" to turn things around and to step back on winning path. "I'm very happy that WFC gave me the possibility to fight under its wings," stated Tessari and added that WFC events are important for bringing people closer to the beautiful world of MMA. "WFC is a great organization and for sure one of the biggest in Europe."

Tessari has some quality victories on his record – he has defeated Dysert-John twice and Claudio Conti who made his last apperance at Challengers 4. He's coming to the WFC ring to claim the empty welterweight throne and is determined that he'll be the next Champion.

"I'm coming with only one target and that is to defeat my opponent and make a statement! I'll give my best and I'm sure that the crowd will have something to see."

Simone is focused on strenght and condition training at the moment but he's mixing it with BJJ, boxing and Thai-boxing training. You have to be complete fighter if you wish to succeed  in the though word of MMA. Tessari is determined that he has was it takes to become a Champion and he's coming to Ljubljana to prove it.
