Prospects on the rise: Joksimovic

WFC has been known since its beginnings as an organization that promotes young and upcoming fighters and on top of that serves as a starting point for world’s biggest stages. Dozens of fighters have taken the opportunity and made their name inside the WFC ring, many of those ended up in the UFC. For Rados Joksimovic that is not a reality just yet but he is putting much effort into making such dream a reality one day.

24-year old Serbian was an MMA fan from the minute he saw a few tournaments in his home country of Serbia. ″I went to a few open weight MMA tournaments in Serbia as a kid. You know, what is was like back then with almost no rules and without gloves. The badest man back then Miodrag Petkovic Pele, first and the most famous MMA fighter out of Serbia. I was so inspired by him that I started to train martial arts as a kid,” Rados vividly talked about his beginnings.

He started with karate and later transitioned to kickboxing and eventually grappling. It wasn’t easy to train back in the day with a limited number of MMA gyms in Serbia. ”There wasn’t any real MMA gym’s in my hometown so I had to drive far to train. But I loved every single minute of it, I wouldn’t change anything in my career.”

His perseverance brought him to the WFC and the upcoming fight against Gashi will be the biggest one in his career to date. ”This is a big thing for me,” Joksimovic replied. ”This is the biggest fight of my professional career. I am training hard, I swear twice a day to be the best I can possibly be. With my team we are working on my strength and conditioning and at the same time improving my fight game. I am 100% health and ready to do this.”

We are counting down the days as WFC 20 is approaching fast. Support Rados and other gladiators live and get a ticket while they are still available. Don’t miss out on the biggest summer MMA event in Austria.
