Zlatko Mahic: Out With The Old, In With The New
12.01.2012
2012 will be a year of change for the World Freefight Challenge. An organisation always trying to improve, the coming year will see a number of things done differently.
"We will see new faces in the WFC," revealed promoter, Zlatko Mahic, a man intent on making the promotion the best it can possibly be. "Old fighters who are losing will be cancelled, to make way for rising stars. Three to four fighters off the Challengers cards will progress to full WFC events this year."
One fighter in particular Mahic has seen a decline in is Slovenia's Bojan Kosednar. Zlatko is of the opinion the Welterweight should call it a day on a colourful career which has seen him fight all over the world. He admitted,
"I think Bojan Kosednar should retire. For a reason I'm not sure of, he's not looked the same recently. He was on top for one and a half rounds and didn't finish Mahtenko. We need fighters that can do three, five minute rounds; not ones that gas out after the first. I think that he has a lot to offer teaching MMA to young fighters."

Other changes are also set to take place over the next twelve months, to make the coming year even better than the last.
"2011 was a fantastic year for us, with two new Champions crowned, the launch of the Challengers brand and lots of the exciting fights fans have come to expect from us.
"This year will be even better. There will be plenty of new faces on our events; young, hungry talent determined to make it big. We will have a new and improved website also to make our organisation's reach even larger.
"Our Heavyweight division will be one of our main priorities this year, and we have signed some of the best talent about.
"We will also host three full WFC events this year, and three Challengers cards. In addition, we have been making a forty episode TV series, which will hit channels around the world soon."
Fans, make sure you don't miss a moment this year with the World Freefight Challenge.
