Vaso Bakocevic:Do Not Miss This, Its Going To Be A War!

26.01.2012

WFC Challengers 2 will see the return of exciting, 8-1-1 Montenegrin Vaso Bakocevic, who will take on Timur Gagaev of Austria in the Lightweight division.

Bakocevic, who has the fighting nickname, 'Psychopath,' is excited to be once again competing on a World Freefight Challenge bill.

"I'm very happy because in my opinion, the WFC is one of the strongest organisations in Europe, and it's a honour to be a part of it. I had some offers to fight in Russia and England, but when I received an offer to fight on the Challengers 2  I accepted it with no doubts."

Back in September, Vaso took on Miha Utrosa at Challengers 1, with the two battling it out to a hard fought draw. The former was not pleased with his performance that night. He said,

"It was a great experience. I had a tough oponnent and I knew it wasn't going to be easy to win. I overtrained and didn't perform as everybody expected me too; as I usually perform. It was my only fourth Pro match, so I was a little nervous. I wanted to show my best, but I was like a rock; just couldn't let my hands go. I'm happy I didn't lose though and got another chance which I will definitely not blow, I will go until the end in this."

Since that contest, Bakocevic has had several bouts, winning all of them.

"I had four fights in two months after that, and I won them all in the first round by knockout or submissions," revealed the 70kg scrapper. Now, I'm more sure in myself. I have plenty of experience; ten Pro fights, so this will be just another day in the office. I'm never scared, I do not fear anybody. I'm only scared of myself, thinking im not going to show my best. As for fighting, it's my life, so I will definitely look to fight as much as possible. My goal is to become the WFC Lightweight champion, and everybody who stays in my way is going to have a problem; that's for sure."

Going into his next fight, the 70kg fighter is confident in every area, having watched videos of his opponent, Gagaev.

"I've seen a few videos of him," stated Vaso. "He's a nice guy; good looking. He's had two fights and two wins. From what I can tell, he's a wrestler. He is training with some good fighters form Chechnya, who are also excellent wrestlers, so i sopose he will try to take me down, but I'm training with BJJ black belts, and he is going to have a problem in this area for sure. My takedown defence in ten fights is 100 percent; I've never been taken down in a fight. I have plenty more experience than him, so I think it will be the key to victory. He's only had two fights. I've been in wars and bloody fights, and there's nothing he can to do me that I haven't seen before. He will not make it through the first round, I guarantee."

Ahead of this fight Bakocevic will be preparing in excellent company, in order to ensure he gets the win. He noted,

"The preparation for this fight will be the best ever for sure. I'm in Stockholm, Sweden, training with the Shootfight Top Team with some UFC fighters and BJJ black belts. My skills will be on another level. As you can see by my record, I'm good in every area. I have four submissions and three KOes. I have only once won by decision. I finish fights and that's pretty much what I'm going to do in this fight."

Vaso fully intends this to be exciting for the fans, and is determined to put on a high octane battle.

"This is going to be a dog fight," insisted 'Psychopath.' "I'm coming aggressive as always, and looking for the KO. I love the WFC rules with the soccer kicks and stomps, and that's what I'm looking for. This is not going two rounds for sure. Whether it's me or him, somebody is going to get KOed. Do not miss this, it's going to be a war!"
