Phil Hawes unconcerned about new opponent: ''I'm the best in the world''

Middleweight contender Phil Hawes impressed fans and critics in his BRAVE CF debut, back in November of last year. Less than two months after beating Dominik Schober in India, "Megatron" will be back in action, as BRAVE Combat Federation begins 2020 with a partnership with WFC for BRAVE CF 34/WFC 24, which takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on January 19th.

As he continues his climb towards the top of his division, currently ruled by Daniel Gaucho, Hawes says he's unconcerned about Iuri Fraga, his next opponent, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from Brazil, based in the United Arab Emirates. The American wrestler feels he's the best in the world and wants to show that in Slovenia. "I don't really watch my opponents, I just compete. I do what I do and let them try to figure me out. I know I'll always have the tools to get the victory. Fraga is going to be a tough opponent, he's had a lot of fights, but I don't think he's on my level, none of these guys are. I'm down to showcase my skills against all of them. I think I'm the best in the world so it doesn't really matter", says a confident Phil, who predicts a second-round finish over Fraga.

"I'm going to go for a finish in the second round. I see myself figuring him out in the first and getting him out of there in the second".

BRAVE CF 34 marks the first show of the fastest-growing MMA organization in the world. It will be held at the Tivoli Hall, in the capital of Slovenia, in partnership with leading local promotion WFC, as both parties look to empower the mixed martial arts and combat sports scene in the Balkans region.
