Buda Is Back At Challengers 2
01.02.2012
Challengers 2 will see the return of K-1 fighter Ivan Budimir, who fans may remember from his performances on WFC 9 and 10. 'Buda' is thrilled to be on a World Freefight Challenge event again, and hopes to make a good impression.
"I am happy to be back," beamed Ivan. "It's always special to fight for a good organisation such as this one, and I hope to fight as much as I can.
"Since my last fight on the WFC, I have fixed an old injury. For a couple of months I couldn't train, but then we got back on track."
Preparations are going well for Budimir ahead of his next bout.
"At this point in time it's all basic training; a lot of running, nothing special," revealed Ivan. "I have a good training camp at the 'KK Centre,' where I have good sparring partners, a great coach (Igor Pacek) and a flexible schedule in the gym, so I can adjust training to suit my work."
Considering his next opponent, the Middleweight reckons the fans are in for a treat. On Aleksandar Stankov, Budimir noted,
"He's a great guy with a great personality. I met him in training for the national team, and we spent some time together in Belgrade and Skopje.
"I've seen some of his fights, and noticed he is a good puncher and is always pushing forward. He takes punches well.
"If it goes the distance, it will be the fight of the night. You will see a lot of action."
To conclude, the K-1 fighter had a short, simple message he wanted to put out there to the WFC fans.
"Buda is back!"
