Are we Human, or are we Panzer?

Are we Human, or are we Panzer?

One of the fights that is the least talked about so far, but which has the potential to be the most exciting is the battle between undefeated middleweights Srdjan Sekulic from Serbia and Pascal Krauss from Germany. Both are powerful young men who have never tasted defeat in their professional careers – Sekulic standing at 5-0, while Krauss is even 7-0.

When you see Sekulic get his groove on as he enters the ring, you would not expect him to be a Serbian national champion in Greco-Roman wrestling who also possesses some serious judo skills. His walk-in antics have earned the 30-year-old from the industrial city of Pancevo the moniker “Crazy Serbian Dancer”.

“Fighting is my life and I fight for fun. My food is raw, I am an animal”, Sekulic describes himself. “It means a lot to me to be fighting on this show, this is the chance of my life. I expect a good fight from me and I want to win. About my opponent, I don't know anything, just his record, so I think he must be a good fighter.”

What Srdjan doesn’t know, we do: Krauss is a German junior boxing champion and and the model student of Germany’s arguably most advanced ground fighter – Gregor Herb. The “Panzer”, as the 22-year-old Freiburg native is called because of his bruising style, has so far cut a swath through very diverse types of opponents: Brawlers, karate fighters and Brazilian jiu-jitsu players.

“I expect this fight to be a war… first he will be at the bottom and me on top and then I’ll be on top and he at the bottom”, the female heart throb explains with a laugh. “And when the smoke is cleared, the winner by knockout will be Pascal Krauss!”

At second inquiry, the young man who studies sports at Freiburg University goes more into detail: “My opponent is shorter and more compact than me and has a wrestling and judo background. I expect him to be physically powerful. He also has a perfect record so far, hopefully I will be able to do something about that on Sunday night.”

It is fights like this, which steal the show. Sekulic knows about the ingredients which are necessary to come out on top in a battle between two so equally matched fighters: “Stamina, heart, experience and concentration will be the most important factors”, he says. “I’m sure the passionate WFC fans will bring out the best in us”, Krauss adds.

Don’t miss it when the “Dancer” and the “Panzer” take the ring around 8pm this Sunday at the Hala Tivoli. A couple of tickets are still available at eventim.si and PETROL gas stations .
When the bell rings, Krauss has a request for the fans at the arena: “Make some noise!”
